Welcome to Butcher Residential

Butcher Residential is a well-established, family-owned independent estate agency, with offices in Penistone and Denby Dale. We specialise in residential and commercial sales, lettings and property management, land sales, and new homes. We sell and let properties throughout South Yorkshire and the Kirklees area.

We really believe in offering valuable, relevant guidance, enabling our clients to achieve their aims as best we can. Whether that’s driven by price, timescale or other factors. Good, fair and well-implemented advice is the most important aspect of what we do.

Our Story

Ian Butcher has worked in the property industry since 1983. Having trained in Sheffield he first came to Barnsley and the surrounding villages in 1985 and latterly headed up the leading agent in town in the early 2000’s until this business was disbanded as a result of the recession, it was at this point that Butcher Residential was created, along with Ian’s wife, Anne.

The business is now headed up by Ian and Anne’s daughter, Holly and along with her Sales Manager Mell Peel and Lettings Manger Jo Black, Holly looks forward to bringing Butcher’s renowned service standards to the local area for many years to come.

Our Team

We are now a tight-knit team of six, all taking a great deal of pride in what we do and the service we provide. Holly head’s up our sales team along with her colleague Mell Peel, Mel is a very experienced negotiator having worked for other local agents since the early 1990’s, before coming to us in 2019. Our rental and property management department is overseen by Jo Black, Jo has over 30 years experience in the profession and has been with us since 2014 now, providing so much care and attention to our valued clients.
